Match Preview: Saracens Head To Quins In Round Four
Saracens are back on the road this weekend as they head down south of the river to face Harlequins at The Stoop.
It’s the first meeting of the two London rivals this season as they go head to head in round four of the Aviva Premiership.
Quins have had a mixed start to their Aviva Premiership campaign. They narrowly overcame Bristol 21-19 in round one but fell to defeats against Sale and Exeter in the following two rounds. This is however Quins’ first game at the Stoop this season and they will be hoping to mark this with a strong performance.
Last Time Out
Sarries and Quins last met at Wembley Stadium in last season’s Derby Day fixture where Saracens overcame the visitors 22-12. Quins were one of only two sides to beat Saracens while the men in black were away from home last season, coming up trumps when Saracens visited the Stoop in January.
One to Watch
The off season proved to be relatively quiet for Quins in the transfer market and as such they will be relying on some of the more established members of their squad to drive their performances this season. Mike Brown returned to action in round three after missing the start of the season and will be lining up against Saracens’ Alex Goode this weekend in the latest chapter of the battle between the two fullbacks.
“We know that they are a very good team, they have good individuals, they are a massive team. Perhaps this year they couldn’t show what they are really capable of [so far] but they’re still a good team. They want to prove themselves this weekend against us at home so we need to be really focused, concrete and think about ourselves.” – Marcelo Bosch
