Match Preview: Saracens v Sale Sharks
Allianz Park will open its gates for the first time this season as Saracens take on Sale Sharks this Saturday.
After a bumpy start to their Aviva Premiership campaign Sale got their first win of the season last week as they overcame London Irish with a 36-7 victory. The Sharks finished 10th last season but are targeting a much improved finish this season. New signing such as Faf de Klerk, Josh Strauss and James O’Conner have come into the squad whilst Sale also have a number of up and coming youngsters including twin brothers Tom and Ben Curry.
One to watch – Tom Curry
In making his first test appearance against Argentina over the summer 19 year old Tom Curry became the youngest England forward in 105 years. The young back row broke in to the Sale Sharks side last season and has since made 20 senior appearances. Keep an eye out too for Curry’s twin brother Ben – an equally exciting young prospect for the Sharks.
“It’s [making his 100th appearance] going to be special for sure, I just try to stay focused on the job to do its an important game for us and hopefully another win!” – Marcelo Bosch
“You want to test yourself against the best like Saracens. They know about playing in finals, they know that feeling about coming through a tight battle. All the boys are up for the challenge - that's why you play the game. You want to challenge yourself and see where you end up.” – Denny Solomona
Referee: Thomas Foley (40th Premiership game).
