Match Preview: Worcester Warriors v Saracens
It’s a Friday night fixture for Sarries this week as they head to Worcester Warriors in round five of the Aviva Premiership.
Worcester have had a tough start to their Aviva Premiership campaign and as such are yet to record a win in this season’s campaign so far. They did however earn a 24-18 victory over Saracens when the sides met at Sixways last season, their first win over the Men in Black in seven fixtures. Worcester have been hit by a number of injuries to key players in recent weeks and will be missing the likes of Francois Hougaard and Ryan Mills on Friday night.
One to watch – Biyi Alo
Saracens fans will recognise the familiar face of Biyi Alo in the Worcester line up this week. The 23 year old prop signed a permenant contract with the Warriors ahead of the 17/18 season and started the campaign as the heaviest player in the Aviva Premiership. Despite having shed a few kilos since Alo, who has scored two tries in four appearances this season, is still a force to be reckoned with.
Last time out
Sarries and Worcester last met back in February where Worcester claimed a 24-18 victory at Sixways. All 24 of Worcester’s points came from the boot of Ryan Mills, who slotted eight penalties. The Warriors lead at the break and despite Sarries second half efforts, which included a late Schalk Brits try, the home side held on to secure the win.
