Match Report: Saracens Women 44-5 Lille Métropole

Saracens Women put in an impressive display to record a resounding 44-5 victory over French side Lille Métropole a week before the start of the 2018/19 Tyrrells Premier 15s campaign.

Hannah Botterman powered over early on to open the scoring before great combination play doubled Sarries’ try count.

A superb turnover by Jodie Rettie allowed for quick hands which saw Lotte Clapp scamper in.

Lille responded with a try of their own, but Georgia Lingham flew down the wing just before the break to give the hosts a 10-point advantage at half-time.

Then the floodgates opened as the Women in Black stepped up the pace. Sonia Green profited from a strong driving maul and Bryony Cleall dotted down from close range soon after.

After some good phases, Nina Vistisen stretched for the line and Scarlett Cooper-Wall added a seventh with 10 minutes remaining.

Saracens didn’t let up in the closing stages with Clapp carving through the Lille defence to put Sophia John in to round things off.
