McCall pleased with Sarries consistency
Mark McCall was pleased with how Saracens backed up their win over Northampton Saints with a similar outing against Bath.
After scoring nine tries at Franklin’s Gardens, Sarries returned to Allianz Park and put six on their Somerset counterparts and for the second game running didn’t concede a single second-half point.
The victory secured the Men in Black a place in the Aviva Premiership play-offs for the ninth successive campaign with one more win needed to cement a home semi-final.
“It was important today that we backed up last week's performance with another half-decent performance, which we did,” he said.
“I think this year, more than some of the last couple of years, we haven't always had that consistency of performance from week-to-week - we've had some really high level performances but not always backed it up.
“When this project began nine years ago, one of the big objectives was to become consistent in lots of ways without lots of players and staff coming and going, and I think that’s been achieved.”
McCall added: “It’s important we start putting together a run of games and it was important after last week to play the way we did (against Bath).
“We’ve got four points to gain to guarantee ourselves a home semi-final and we’ll work very hard to do that.”
