Milestone appearance for Brits in Europe
Schalk Brits made it 50 European rugby appearances and out in Dublin on Sunday.
The South African dazzled off the bench against Leinster to reach the milestone and was presented with a commemorative cap by EPCR at Aviva Stadium to mark his achievement.
He made his first European outing away to Clermont Auvergne in October 2010, playing 80 minutes as Saracens fell to a 25-10 defeat.
The hooker’s first try in the Champions Cup followed three seasons later as Sarries hammered Connacht on their way to the 2013/14 final.
Brits’ tasted success in the tournament in 2015/16 when the Men in Black overcame Racing 92 to win their first ever European Cup.
More of the same followed the next term with Brits featuring in all nine games including half an hour in the final victory over Clermont.
“To all the past and players, it’s been an honour sharing the pitch with you,” Brits wrote on Twitter.
“Lastly to all the supporters, thank you for bringing the atmosphere and passion!”
Four tries, 2,511 minutes of European rugby and two European titles - congratulations, Skala!
