'Over the Moon' Fraser delighted to sign new-deal

Saracens flanker Will Fraser says he is ‘over the moon’ to have put pen to paper on a three-year contract extension to remain at Allianz Park until 2019.

The back row forward who has made 71 appearances for his boyhood club will remain in north London for three more years joining the Vunipola brothers, fellow academy graduate Jamie George and Scotland international Duncan Taylor in signing contract extensions with the Allianz Park side as Saracens continue to tie down their brightest talents to long-term deals.

Having experienced an unfortunate run of injuries in the 2014/15 season, Fraser has battled back to make a series of impressive outings for the club in both the Aviva Premiership and European Rugby Champions Cup. The 26-year old who has been tipped for international honours during his time with Saracens says he is delighted to continue his love affair with the club that he describes as “home”.

“I’m over the moon to be honest,” beamed Fraser. “I’ve been here since I was 14-years old and grown up here with a few of the other lads, I wouldn’t want to go anywhere else as I love the Club. I love everything that it’s about so I’m really happy to extend my stay at Allianz Park.

“If you look at the squad now and the amount of lads that have come through the academy system and the young talent we’ve got, I think, looking forward to the future, it’s hugely exciting for the Club. Definitely consistency has been great and in and amongst that we’ve bought in some quality players - I think we’re in a very good place.

“The Club have been incredibly loyal to me and shown me a lot of trust. I want to repay that by playing as well as I can on the pitch. I’ve had a few setbacks in my time so hopefully I can get a bit more game time this year. I love being a part of it here, I love playing with the lads and I just want to be playing for Sarries as much as I can.

“I want to play as well as I can for the Club, and if other stuff comes off the back of it, great, but my priority is, and always will be, Sarries.”
