Players to Watch ahead of Women's Cup Final
Ahead of Saracens Womens’ National Cup final on Saturday, we cast our eyes over four players to watch.
Fleming has impressed in her first season at Saracens after moving across from Bristol Ladies. Deadly with ball in hand and with pace to burn, the England Academy winger is a constant threat in attack and will be looking to add to her try tally on Saturday.
The Saracens captain has run out over 200 times for the club and shows no signs of slowing down. She boasts power, pace, leadership and awareness, bringing physicality in defence and excellent ball carrying. The skipper is the linchpin of the Sarries set piece and will be sure to impose herself with her aerial impact.
After being sidelined for 4 seasons due to a back injury, Barras has fought her way back into the Saracens starting squad and will add valuable experience to the backline. Powerful and aggressive in both attack and defence, the veteran fullback has the ability to spark the game and lift the players around her. No stranger to finals, Barras has represented England in 15’s and 7’s at three World Cups and scored in the 2010 RWC final vs New Zealand.
The England U20 hooker has enjoyed a strong opening season at Saracens and made a huge impact up front. Her lineout accuracy has been superb and this coupled with her ability to play like an extra backrow, causing chaos at the breakdown and turning over opposition ball, makes her a real threat.
