About Lille

Founded in 1972, LMRCV is young but dynamic and features in the Top 8. It is the first time the French club has crossed the channel to play a pre-season friendly with their new backroom team describing the contest as a ‘new adventure’ to prepare themselves for the start of the French Championship which kicks-off on Sunday 16th September against Bayonne.

Due to their northern location, Lille is considered slightly lost on the French rugby map but with great passion and engagement, they have risen to the top of women’s rugby and have a strong academy to boot. Several players have come through the club’s youth setup and play internationally for France Under-18s while three senior members of the squad in Miléna Soloch, Yanna Rivoalen and Gabrielle Vernier have received caps for their country.

Lille’s hope is to establish a solid link with Saracens Women and for regular matches – both in France and at Allianz Park – occur in the future.

Sarries welcome Lille to Allianz Park on Saturday, kick-off 15H30. Entry is free for all supporters.
