ABOUT LOUGHBOROUGH LIGHTNING

Loughborough Lightning were a newly-formed team last season having successfully bid to be one of the ten clubs in the inaugural Tyrrells Premier 15s.

They had a solid opening campaign, winning 10, losing seven and drawing one to finish fifth, seven points away from the play-off places.

Over the summer Loughborough bolstered their squad with three internationals – Canadians DaLeaka Meninand Emily Tuttosi and Scot Rhona Lloyd – and have reaped the rewards, recording eight straight victories to lead the way in the table, four points clear of Saracens Women.

Like Saracens, Loughborough are missing some key personnel for Saturday’s fixture. Seven players are away with England for the final autumn international against Ireland, so those on the fringe of selection will be eyeing this game as a chance to stake their claim.

HEAD TO HEAD

4/11/17 – Saracens Women 29-12 Bristol Bears Women
30/3/18 – Bristol Bears Women 19-29 Saracens Women
