Red Hot Goode hails 'ruthless' Sarries
Man of the Match Alex Goode hailed Saracens’ ‘ruthless’ attack as they defeated Bath Rugby 30-10 in a four try win at The Rec on Friday night.
Saracens looked in imperious form with ball in-hand with full-back Goode a constant thorn in the Bath side as assisted two tries and made a series of telling breaks to remind onlookers of his undoubted England credentials.
Speaking after a feisty encounter that saw Goode’s opposite number Anthony Watson red carded for dangerous tackle in the encounter, the 27-year old Sarries full-back said after the game: "It's an incredibly hard place to come down here. They came at us with everything and you can see how dangerous they are but I thought we rode out that storm really well and our defence upped it again after that.
"I thought our attack, at times, was brilliant, really ruthless and we really went after them.”
Goode though was keen to stress that his side’s attention will quickly move onto Northampton Saints, as Saracens lock horns with their Premiership rivals in next Saturday’s European Rugby Champions Cup Quarter Final at Allianz Park.
"We've got to make sure we prepare well [for Northampton],” said Goode. “It doesn't matter what happens, we've got to make sure we step up to the mark. We've got to make sure we play well and put a big performance in. It doesn't matter what we did the week before."
