Returning Isiekwe emphasises need for clarity in approach

Saracens' Nick Isiekwe says that it is important that he and his teammates approach this weekend's match against Newcastle with 'clarity'.

The academy member has been part of Sarries' last three successive Premiership wins and says that Newcastle, who have won four in a row, will not distract them from focusing on their own preparation for the game.

He explained: "They've got a lot of good strike-runners, especially in the backfield but we're just concentrating on ourselves. We're making sure we have complete clarity in what it is we want to do.

"We have a new group and starting this week we want to show what we're going to be about for these next four weeks. We're not going to take a backwards step and are going to impose ourselves, it's obviously a big challenge but one that we're ready for."

This weekend marks the fifth anniversary of Saracens calling Allianz Park home and academy graduate Isiekwe says that he has fond memories of making his debut for Saracens at home against Newcastle last season.

The 19-year-old said: "Making my debut here last year in the Anglo-Welsh Cup against Newcastle was unbelievable and it was a proud moment for me and my family."

He added: "Every week the fans come down and give us such great support, even in bad weather they come down and make sure they support us which is amazing. After the games, when you're walking around, it's amazing seeing young kids playing on the pitch after watching us."

"It's a testament to the how Saracens pride themselves on being a family it's great that we've been here for five years and hopefully there's many more memories to be made."

Isiekwe was called up to the England squad for the Six Nations and returns to play for Saracens this weekend, he made his debut against Argentina in the summer and says he enjoys being a part of the England setup.

"It was good being there, every day you want to get better and it's a great environment to test yourself as well as compete in. Every day I feel like I learn a little bit more and anything I can add to my game is a bonus.

"Like here, there are great coaches and it's a great setup. It's been a really enjoyable experience playing with great players and see how they operate. It's a nice thing to have under my belt and I'm really happy."
