Rob Cain to depart Saracens Women for international role
Saracens Women Head Coach Rob Cain will leave the club this summer to take on the role of Head Coach of the United States Women’s National Team.
Cain's leadership has been central to the recent dominance of Saracens Women. In his 2014 debut season, he secured the Premiership and Cup double; a sign of the successes to come. The Premiership 7s title followed in 2016. Last month, Cain’s passion and drive saw the team take the inaugural Tyrrells Premier 15s title with a thrilling victory over Harlequins.
“It’s been a great adventure but as they say, all good things must come to an end” said Cain.
“I am incredibly indebted to all the players and staff that I have been fortunate to work with over these past four seasons. Thoughts, processes, ideas, are all words and without their absolute trust, buy in and proactive actions they remain just that. It’s the people next to you that make the journey special and I have been fortunate to have been surrounded by so many good people.
“We have had multiple title success at the club over the past four years but it’s the work we all put in as a group, the smiles and wonderful memories culminating in those titles that will stick with me as I depart to the international stage in the USA.”
Club Director Laura Eddie said: “Rob has much to be proud of during his time at the club; his record in securing silverware speaks for itself. However, it is the guidance and support he has offered to players that will be his legacy. The next generation of Saracens Women will benefit from the extraordinary opportunities that Rob has helped to create.”
On behalf of everyone at Saracens we wish him the very best of luck in his exciting next chapter.
