Saracens Legend To Take On Round The Island Race
We are excited to announce that as part of his final week at Saracens, Hugh Vyvyan will be taking on the Round the Island Boat Race in aid of the Saracens Sport Foundation.
Hugh joined Saracens in 2004 where he was made captain before even having played a game for the team. In May 2011, during the Aviva Premiership Final, Hugh Vyvyan became the most capped player in the Premiership as he came off the bench to make his 238th appearance.
After Saracens moved to their current home at Allianz Park, Hugh took up the role of Commercial Director, where he has lead on sponsorship sales, creating a family of aspirational brands not seen on any other Premiership clubs’ shirt.
Hugh will be leaving the club this summer to set up his own business in Leadership Training.
His final act before leaving the club will see him racing in the world famous Round the Island Race, the race regularly attracts over 1,700 boats and around 16,000 sailors, making it one of the largest yacht races in the world and the fourth largest participation sporting event in the UK after the London Marathon and the Great North and South Runs.
From all at the Saracens Sport Foundation, we would like to wish Hugh the best in his future endeavours. If you would like to donate to Hugh’s Round the Island Challenge then please follow this link:
