Saracens Recognised By Rugby World Magazine
Saracens are delighted to have been recognised by Rugby World as having seven of the world’s top 100 players in their rankings.
Academy product Owen Farrell tops the list of the game’s best players published in this month’s edition of the magazine. British and Irish Lion Maro Itoje is handed fourth place in the list, giving Saracens two of the top five places in the rankings.
Mako and Billy Vunipola were both called up for the Lions but Billy was unfortunate to miss out through injury and have been ranked closely together at 27th and 29th place respectively. Mako is in the list alongside fellow Lions starters Liam Williams (53rd) and Jamie George (73rd), hooker Schalk Brits is ranked 91st in the list.
Williams won the Pro 14 title with Scarlets in 2017 while the other players in the list achieved success on the continental stage with the defence of their Champions Cup title.
It is an incredibly proud moment for the club’s academy to have three players represented in the list (Farrell, Itoje and George) having built their careers at the club, achieving huge amounts of success with Saracens and at international level, winning back to back Six Nations titles alongside Mako and Billy Vunipola.
Nathan Earle and Nick Isiekwe have also both broken into the England international setup in the last year, representing further recognition and success for the club’s production of talent.
To celebrate this, we are offering fans the chance to claim free printing on all replica shirts for 48 hours. Visit www.saracenssuperstore.com for more details.
