Saracens Sponsor London Youth Games Kit
The kids that participate in the First Leg Athletics Club were treated to an extra special session at Allianz Park yesterday when Saracens centre Tim Streather, para athlete Justin Levene and baseball player Laura Hirai dropped into their club to wish Team Barnet well in their preparations for the London Youth Games and support the launch of the new kit.
The kids were very excited to be given the opportunity to get up close and personal with these top level athletes and participate in a question and answer session, as well as getting some personal tips from the athletes on various sporting skills.
Emily Neilan, Run Activator at Saracens Sport Foundation said “It was so lovely to see the children’s faces light up when being exposed to such successful athletes. It is important that children believe that they can succeed, follow their dreams and understand that anything is possible with determination and hard work!”
As Team Barnet are getting ready to conquer the rest of the capital at the London Youth Games, the kit launch is the latest step in that effort. Team Barnet will be sponsored by Saracens Rugby Club and the borough’s leisure operator, Better, for the 2016/17 season.
The Balfour Beatty London Youth Games is Europe’s largest annual youth sports event, with all 33 London boroughs taking part in the action.
We are hoping that by meeting these inspiring Sports Personalities, the First Leg athletes will be inspired and encouraged to continue taking part in sport.
