Saracens U18 beaten by Quins
Harlequins Under-18s scored two tries in each half to overcome 26-12 Saracens Under-18s at Allianz Park.
The visitors got off to a perfect start when outside centre Lennox Anyanwu crossed for the opening try, but England U18 prop Harvey Beaton replied for Sarries 10 minutes later.
With the side evenly matched, Quins managed to sneak into the break with the lead; Patrick Green going over for their second score and just after the interval, the Twickenham outfit were awarded a penalty try following a sequence of poor discipline from Saracens.
Hooker Sam Riley wrapped things up for Harlequins with 10 remaining and Harry Sturge’s late effort proved to be a consolation for the hosts.
Sarries U18 Backs Coach James Tirrell said: “We had some great energy in defence and created some opportunities in attack.
“Quins were a good side but we gave them a couple of gift tries. That’s what’s good about this academy league, the competition is high and the learning moments are fierce.
“The positive comes next week when we can test our learning against Irish.”
