Saracens win the Premiership 7s!
Saracens lifted the 2018 Premiership Rugby 7s trophy with an impressive 33-12 victory over holders Wasps at Franklin's Gardens.
It is the second time the Men in Black have claimed the tournament crown having previously won the 2010 competition.
After an opening round to defeat to Newcastle Falcons in the pool stage, Sarries secured their place in the cup quarter-finals with a 26-14 victory against Leicester Tigers.
A tense affair with Exeter Chiefs followed – Matt Gallagher’s last-gasp try forcing the contest into extra time before Sean Reffell’s golden-point score sending Mike Hynard’s side into the last four.
Saracens booked their place in the final with an entertaining win over London rivals Harlequins, setting up a mouth-watering encounter versus back-to-back sevens winners Wasps.
Captain Joel Conlon led the way with two tries either side of Sunni Jardine dotting down for the Coventry-based outfit.
Sarries stretched their lead when Tom Griffiths broke through to dab down, then Rotimi Segun and Miteli Vulikijapani continued the Wolfpack’s momentum to knock Wasps off their perch despite a Callum Sirker consolation.
