Saracens Women Forwards Coach Vacancy
Saracens Women are searching for a coach to join our existing coaching team.
Saracens have a long history of success on the field – securing the Premiership and Cup double in 2015 and finalists in 2016. The club has two sides – the 1XV playing in the Premiership and 2XV in Championship South. We are looking to recruit a coach that can develop an environment that stimulates and promotes player development and encourages all players to maximise their potential.
The successful candidate must have energy, enthusiasm and be an excellent coach who can deliver high quality training sessions.
Saracens has an illustrious history which is looking to be continued and this is a great opportunity for a coach who is willing to dedicate themselves to being successful with the exciting group of players that are currently at the club including junior and senior internationals and university scholars.
Main Duties & Responsibilities:
Working closely with the Head Coach and existing coaching team to continue to evolve and establish a playing philosophy that leads to on field success.
Set Piece. To configure and implement in association with the Head Coach:
- The team scrummaging policies for attack and defence, including specific positional & technical coaching and tactical awareness.
- The team lineout policies for attack and defence, core skills, calling systems and compilation of lineout playbook.
- The team maul policies on attack and defence including coaching of the core and unit skills required.
To assist in the rugby content planning for the season in the areas of set piece and forward play.
Assist in the implementation of the Individual and Positional Skills program for forwards.
Preparation of game plan tactics in association with the Head Coach.
Conduct analysis of individual players, the squad and opposition.
Plan and deliver team training sessions and assist with match day preparations.
Assist head coach with squad selection of the 1st XV and 2nd XV.
Understand the requirements and work effectively with national team’s coaches for those players involved in performance pathways.
Continue to uphold the values of Saracens on and off the field and contribute positively to the Team environment and culture.
Rugby Union Coaching Award – Minimum Level 2, preferred Level 3. Candidates with an experienced playing background will also be considered.
Experience of planning and delivering sessions in a high performance environment
Player centred/game related approach to coaching and developing players
Ability to analyse technical and tactical aspects of the game, identify problems and find solutions
Possess a level of knowledge that allows the players to achieve their potential
Sound understanding and knowledge of up to date coaching practices
Ability to work effectively as part of a team and as an individual
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Have the capacity to differentiate between the need and requirements of the high performance rugby players and those at a development level.
Access to own Transport
Successful candidates will be remunerated on a sessional basis dependant on quality and experience.
We require the successful applicant to be available for pre-season training from July onwards. Interviews will take place w/c 20th June 2016.
