Saracens Women name Cup team to face Worcester Valkyries

Saracens Women have named their team to face Worcester Valkyries in the Senior Cup at Allianz Park this Sunday, kick-off 14H00.

Sarries will be looking to finish 2017 with a bang and a win today will maintain their 100% record across the Premier 15s 1XV, 2XV and Cup campaigns so far this season.

There’s strength in the midfield as England U20 international duo of Emma Uren and Ella Wyrwas link up in the centres - a first start this season for Uren as she returns from injury. The experienced Cathy Freeman comes in at full-back alongside Eloise Bloomfield and Letti Monteleone on the wings.  In the halves, Anna Goddard starts at scrum-half with Emma Swords at fly-half.

Anna Stodter captains the side from the second row alongside Dutch international Tessa Wiljmans in the Sarries engine room. In the front row, Sarah Bebbington slots in at hooker flanked by props Sarah Barber and Jude Stephenson. In the back row, Rosanna Moynihan continues at No.8 with Kat Josephides at blindside flanker and Bronwen Jackson-Turner at openside flanker.

Speaking ahead of the match, head coach Rob Cain said: “With the league finished for 2017 our attention now turns to the Cup and I am excited for the group today. It’s another opportunity for them to continue to stake their claim for Premier 15s rugby. Worcester will pose a real test and if we can get the type of ball we want, when we want it, and win the set piece platform battle, we can come out the game on the right side.
