Sarries duo heading to Rio Olympics
Summer signing Save Rawaca and double-winner Chris Wyles could potentially face each other at the Rio Olympics after they were both included in their nation's Olympic Rugby 7s squads.
Fiji and the USA 7s sides have been drawn together in Pool A of the Olympic 7s, and both Rawaca and Wyles have made the cut to head to the Brazil.
Rawaca, who will link up with Saracens after the completion of the games, has starred for reigning World Series champions Fiji and will be looking to make his mark as Sevens rugby makes its debut as an Olympic sport. Saracens wing Wyles has been in training for Mike Friday’s USA side, with the experienced Sarries three-quarter swapping the fifteen-a-side game for the reduced format for the Rio games.
Great Britain's men, who competed at Allianz Park earlier this month, have been drawn with World Cup holders New Zealand, Kenya and Japan in Pool C as rugby sevens makes its Olympic debut in Rio.
The 15-player version of rugby was last played at the Olympics in 1924 and sevens will appear for the first time at this summer's Games in Brazil.
The matches will take place between 6 and 11 August.
Pool A: Fiji, Argentina, USA, Brazil.
Pool B: South Africa, Australia, France, Spain.
Pool C: New Zealand, Great Britain, Kenya, Japan.
