Sarries Stars Impress On International Duty
It was another fine weekend for the Saracens Six Nations contingent as England secured the Six Nations title for the first time since 2011.
At Twickenham 21 year old Maro Itoje put in a man of the match performance in only his third appearance in an England shirt. Itoje made 14 tackles in the game and shone at the lineout as England triumphed 25-21 over rivals Wales. Also in action for England were Saracens George Kruis, Billy Vunipola, and Owen Farrell while Mako Vunipola featured off the bench. Farrell kicked six penalties and a conversion to add to Anthony Watson’s try to secure home victory while Kruis put in another assured performance as England’s lineout operator.
Also in action this weekend was Saracens’ Duncan Taylor who impressed against for Scotland as they secured victory over France. Taylor made 79 meters and 9 carries alongside scoring a fine try after making a blistering run up the side line to contribute to Scotland’s 29-18 triumph.
England now travel to Paris with the hope of securing their first grand slam since 2003 while Scotland will take on Ireland as they aim to secure their third win of the tournament.
