Sarries U18 score seven tries in Exeter win
Saracens Under-18s backed up their home win against London Irish with an emphatic victory at Exeter Chiefs on Saturday.
The visitors scored seven tries, all of which were converted by fly-half Josh Barton, on their way to a 49-7 result.
Barton also grabbed a try in an impressive display, adding to Jake Morris’ early dot down.
Hooker Theodore Dan crossed in reply to Chiefs’ sole score of the contest while Max Bliss, Daniel James, Morris and Brandon Jackson also went over.
“This proved to be a tough game, despite the final score,” Academy Manager Mike Hynard said.
“There was very little between the two teams in the first half but we managed to go into half-time with a 14-point lead despite some sustained pressure from the Exeter team who failed to convert a couple of really good opportunities.
“The second half saw us become more dominant at set piece and we were able to score a couple of very good team tries that finished Exeter’s hopes of closing the gap.
“Again, the pleasing thing from my point of view is that despite the comfortable winning margin there is still plenty of improvements this team can make.
“The coaches and players will be working hard over the next two weeks to produce an improved performance against what looks like a strong Bath U18 team on Saturday 2nd February (KO 13H00) at Allianz Park.”
