Following on from the success of last year’s Silver Sunday, this year Barnet celebrated Silver Week with special activities, offers and events being held across the Borough for older people to enjoy.
Saracens Sport Foundation were once again thrilled to be part of this initiative, as we share the passion of bringing older people together, being both active and social.
On Tuesday 3rd October we launched our new Rambling Rugby sessions for over 50s here at Allianz Park. Our new cohort took to the same pitch our champions compete on week in week out, which defiantly inspired some great team work and skills straight away! Finding space while not being allowed to run proved a fun challenge for all involved, and learning the first principal of play, go forward. The session ended with a flurry of tries and participants were already looking forward for next week’s session.
If you would like to join us for a FREE session next week, please contact firstname.lastname@example.org
If we weren’t busy enough on Tuesday, our Love to Dance classes performed two show stopping routines in the middle of Brent Cross Shopping Centre at the Silver Sunday information and presentation stage.
50 of our dancers performed routines throughout the afternoon drawing in the crowds to watch and we hope to see some of those new faces at classes soon! The event had information for everyone, with groups presenting from Barnet carers, Age UK and Mencap to name a few, so we were honored to be a part of the day. We have 5 dance sessions running weekly across the borough and you don’t need a partner to join us, so if you would like to come and learn Chacha or Bollywood or Salsa or even if you would like to chance to perform at our next event at the London Stadium, contact email@example.com to find a class near you.
