SSF shortlisted for London Sport Award
The Saracens Sport Foundation have started 2016 with a bang by being shortlisted for a London Sport Award in the category of ‘The Harnessing the Power of Elite Sport Award’.
The London Sport Awards recognise outstanding achievement from groups and individuals that are making London the most physically active city in the world aiming to get 1,000,000 Londoners more physically active by 2020.
We will be going head to head with the Rugby World Cup 2015 (and partners), Ealing Handball, The Golf Trust and the Westminster Mile. This award recognises the real impact made through partnerships between grassroots and elite sport, to create sustained grassroots activity to inspire the next generation of talent and support the local community.
Using sport and the Saracens brand to enhance health and education, we are dedicated to inclusion and using sport in its broadest sense to bring about positive change within its community. We have had another great year in the Foundation, working across North London to engage and challenge participants to lead active, healthy and rewarding lifestyles by supporting their aspirations for personal achievement. We reach out to some of the most challenging people in our community including isolated older people, excluded and vulnerable children and young people, young offenders and ex-offenders, and autistic young people in a wide range of activities to enhance the quality of their lives and introduce new life experiences and avenues for future personal and professional development.
We are extremely proud to be shortlisted and recognised by the London Sport Awards panel and look forward to the awards ceremony on Thursday 21st January at Lord’s Cricket Ground where the winners will be announced. Get your ticket now to celebrate with us http://bit.ly/1QaCg6F
