Still things to work on – Barrington
Richard Barrington says Saracens still have things to work on despite an improved showing against Exeter Chiefs.
The Men in Black just fell short of a losing bonus point against the Aviva Premiership leaders at Sandy Park but produced hearty display in the battle.
Sarries now have two weeks off to recharge their batteries before preparations begin for the derby game at the London Stadium.
It’s a match where Mark McCall will have all his internationals at his disposal, something Barrington is richly looking forward to.
On the Exeter game, the former Jersey prop said: “We came to Exeter to right some wrongs from last week as we were off the boil against Leicester at Allianz Park.
“It’s definitely a tough challenge and one of the hardest places to go to in the Premiership at the moment. They’ve made Sandy Park a fortress and haven’t lost many there, and it’s always hard to come and play against the champions.
“As a team we thought we needed to put a statement down and in patches we were enjoying defending.
“The heart of the boys was amazing, it was just a bit of detail that wasn’t there. There are still things to work on and then we can right some wrongs against Quins in a few weeks.”
He added: “We’re looking forward to the internationals coming back. We’ve got a couple of weeks now so we’ll have a few days off to rest the bones in the body.
“We’ll have a full strength team with the internationals coming back against Quins and then we have a big game the week after (against Leinster).
“Hopefully we can regather and get ready for the challenges ahead during the rest of the season.”
