Team News: Saracens name side to face Newcastle

Saracens have named their team to face Newcastle Falcons for Saturday's round two Anglo-Welsh Cup fixture at Allianz Park, kick-off 13h00.

Wing Nathan Earle returns to the Saracens starting XV for the first time this season. Earle, who won the ITM Cup with Canterbury in a successful loan spell in New Zealand is back in Saracens colours at Allianz Park and will join Mike Ellery and Andrew Fenby in the Saracens back three.

In the halves, Henry Taylor comes in at scrum half to join Tom Whiteley who will continue in the number ten shirt. Tom Griffiths continues at inside centre after an impressive debut and is joined by Nick Tompkins in the Sarries midfield.

Kelly Brown captains a youthful Saracens team from flanker. The experienced former Scotland skipper will line up at openside flanker alongside Joel Conlon (blindside flanker) and Samu Vunisa (No8) in the back-row.

Nick Isiekewe and Mark Flanagan continue at lock forward whilst in the front row Petrus Du Plessis comes in for Vincent Koch (who is away on international duty) at tighthead prop to join Scott Spurling (hooker) and Richard Barrington (loosehead prop).

Ian Vass, Saracens academy coach: "On Saturday we'll face a very competitive Newcastle Falcons side on the back of last weekend’s tight defeat to Gloucester. This is a young side and they'll learn from the experience at Kingsholm. Their reaction this week in training has been superb, but despite last Saturday’s result there were plenty of positives that we will take into Saturday's game and we’re looking forward to the challenge."
