Team News: Saracens Women vs Bristol Bears Women
Saracens Women will be without seven international players when they welcome Bristol Bears Women to Allianz Park on Saturday.
In what is the last Tyrrells Premier 15s game before a two-month break for the Six Nations, head coach Alex Austerberry has had to make a raft of changes to the side which beat Gloucester-Hartpury last weekend.
Hannah Botterman, Poppy Cleall, Zoe Harrison, Vicky Fleetwood, Sarah McKenna, Marlie Packer and Elle Perry are all unavailable, giving several up and coming players the chance to shine against sixth-placed Bristol, who have won their last two league games.
In the forwards, Bryony Cleall moves from number eight to loosehead prop, Jeannie Layola starts at tighthead prop in place of Hannah Duffy, Chrissy Siczowa comes in at flanker and Kay Searcy switches to number eight.
Among the backs, Nina Vistisen starts at full-back, Georgie Lingham returns to the side on the right wing, Sydney Gregson moves to outside centre and Lauren Cattell comes in at fly-half. Georgie Gulliver has won back her place at scrum-half after starting on the bench last week.
Austerberry said: “We are looking to put in a performance on Saturday that reflects who we are and how we want to play the game.
“We have not performed to the level we expect of ourselves in the last few weeks, but the great thing about the league is we have another opportunity to play, to learn and to improve.
“We know Bristol will be a very tough challenge and this game could not come at a better time for us as a group.”
