There’s more to come – Goode
Alex Goode insists there is more to come from Saracens despite their good form of late.
The Men in Black have scored 22 tries in their last three Aviva Premiership outings and haven’t concede a single second-half point since their Champions Cup exit to Leinster on 1st April.
However, Goode believes Sarries aren’t quite at their sparkling best but that comes from what the squad demand from each other.
“We’re progressing but I don’t think we’re quite happy with what we’re putting out there just yet,” he said.
“In patches we’ve been very good and this weekend is another chance to build on our performances.
“We’ve probably be a bit patchy in terms of a full 80 minutes – half against Bath, half against Northampton, a bit of a half last week.
“We know there is more in us and that comes from the demands we expect from ourselves.”
A second-place finish and a home semi-final was confirmed with victory over London Irish last time out.
Saturday’s match against Gloucester may not have an impact on the table from a Sarries perspective but Goode says it is important the hosts put on a display to be proud of regardless.
He said: “From our point of view, we want to put in a big performance and build towards the play-offs.
“People will say there is nothing on it but for us we pride ourselves on our performance and we want to continue to get better.
“It’s a great test for us and great preparation for the play-offs. We have to make sure we’re firing on all cylinders, and if there are certain tests then we rise to them.
“The challenge is putting in a really good performance that we expect of each other.”
