This weekend is something dreams are made of - George

Jamie George says he hopes to be at Saracens for years to come ahead of his 200th appearance for the club this weekend.

The hooker made his debut 11 years ago as a teen as a replacement in the LV= Cup and is now set to join an illustrious club which includes the likes of Brad Barritt, Richard Hill and Chris Wyles.

A fan of the club growing up, George dreamed of being a 15 but a double century of games later in the front row and the England international has fulfilled another ambition.

“My favourite player back in the day was Thomas Castaignède. I always used to dream of being a full-back but body shape dictated and that didn’t really work out!” he joked.

“My dad used to get tickets; he was a teacher so used to get tickets through the school, so I used to go quite a lot.

“I loved going down to Vicarage Road and to the Sarries summer camps so I’ve been through the whole process I guess. I was a massive rugby nause growing up – hopefully I’ve grown out of that a little bit!”

He added: “What I find amazing is I’ve been able to grow up supporting this club and to now be running out for my 200th game this weekend is something dreams are made of really. Day-to-day is genuinely so much fun and I guess that’s why I want to be here as long as I can and stick around like a bad smell.”
