Title makes hard work worth it - Farrell
Owen Farrell says winning the Aviva Premiership title on Saturday made everyone’s hard work throughout the season worth it.
Saracens earned their fourth domestic crown with an impressive 27-10 win over Exeter Chiefs at Twickenham last weekend.
The England fly-half admits it’s been ‘up and down’ year for the club and is thankful to come out on top at the end of it.
“It’s brilliant and a bit of a relief really!” Farrell said.
“We had a brilliant couple of weeks and were really excited about the game. These games are always tense when you come into them; they’re always great occasions and thankfully we came out on the right side of it.
“There’s been a lot of figuring out this year and days like this all make it seem worth it. There’s a lot of hard work that’s gone into it from the staff and the players.”
Farrell praised the impact of the Saracens pack and their ability to get the English champions on the front foot.
“The forwards were on a different level and were unbelievably physical. Everyone was concentrated and ready for what was going on.
“To be able to score four tries means we’re going forward somewhere so big credit those guys.”
