Tompkins happy with Saracens' bouncebackability
Saracens fought back from a 17-11 half-time deficit to record victory over Worcester Warriors on Saturday.
Two second-half tries helped the Men in Black to a win, the perfect way of bouncing back from defeat the week before at Exeter Chiefs according to centre Nick Tompkins.
“It was a great way to bounce back,” he said.
“We’re still searching for that 80-minute performance; we need to do our talking on the pitch so it doesn’t take a half-time talking to to sort it out.
“However, a win is a win and we’ve got to celebrate it; they’re a good side and they played well.
“We’re going to get back at it and we’ll going. I think there’s a couple of things that we need to sort out, myself included, but it’s exciting. It’s good to bounce back.”
The match saw the return of David Strettle from a long-term injury and the winger made an impressive impact, scoring 13 minutes after entering the field.
Taking a short line off Owen Farrell’s shoulder, Strettle burst through a gap before rounding Worcester’s covering defender to dot down.
“It was great to see and it shows how much he adds,” Tompkins said.
“He’s a great player, an unbelievable talker and what he brings to the team is just class. It was really, really good to have him back.”
