Vunipola’s ‘Wrecking Ball’ nominated for Rugby Book of the Year

Billy Vunipola has been shortlisted for the 2018 Rugby Book of the Year Award.

As judged by the Rugby Writers Association, the Saracens Number 8 leads the line with ‘Wrecking Ball: A Big Lad From a Small Island – My Story So Far’.

The book is a captivating and humorous memoir, chronicling Vunipola’s remarkable personal odyssey of 10,000 miles, from the tiny Tongan village of Longo Longo to the imposing vastness of Twickenham.

The other books on the shortlist for the accolade at the 2018 Sports Book Awards are Rob Andrew’s assessment of England Rugby, biographies from Lee Byrne and Carwyn James, an official History of Wasps and an impassioned account of the seminal 1971 Lions Tour.

The awards will be presented at a star-studded ceremony, which takes place at Lord’s Cricket Ground on the evening of 7th June.
