We don’t like being questioned! - George
Jamie George was delighted with the way the Saracens pack fronted up to the challenge of a physical Exeter Chiefs eight in the Aviva Premiership final.
The England hooker began the contest and played a key part as Sarries stamped their authority on proceedings in the first period at Twickenham.
The Men in Black won several scrum penalties to show their dominance as well as winning several head-to-head battles at the breakdown and in midfield, something George says Mark McCall’s side had been aiming for.
“We got questioned mid-season and we don’t like being questioned!” he said.
“We put a challenge out to be the most physical pack in the Premiership and I think we showed that. I thought we were brilliant. I felt we were really good and dominated the game.
“I’m really happy with how we performed.”
He continued: “It’s the fourth time we’ve won this thing which is pretty nice and it shows the club is built on great foundations.
“We’ve got a great culture, great people and that’s a good combination.”
