We have lots to learn - Austerberry
Alex Austerberry says his side have a lot to work despite cruising to victory over Worcester Valkyries.
Saracens Women scored seven tries in their first outing of the season at Allianz Park to record their second bonus-point win in the Tyrrells Premier 15s this term.
However it wasn’t all plain sailing as the result may suggest according to head coach Austerberry who admits the Women in Black have ‘lots to learn’.
He said: “If you take the results as standalone events then bonus points in both games is obviously a positive and it is a good feeling to have won both games, but we have to be honest with ourselves and realise there’s a lot to improve on.
“There are certainly some really disappointing elements from (the Worcester game) particularly the breakdown work.
“With that being said we’ve come out with a win and a bonus point but do have lots to learn and lots to work on.”
Sarries travel to Darlington Mowden Park Sharks next weekend looking to add to their 10 points from two games.
The team will be heading to the North East the night before, presenting the chance to build and strengthen relationships within in the group.
“The game is a chance to show our learning and what we’re capable of as a group,” Austerberry said.
“We’ll travel up the night before as a group; the second team are also playing in the development league as well so it’s a good chance for us to travel together, get to know each other better and put in two performances that hopefully really reflect the talent we have.”
