Saracens - What a week for Morris

What a week for Morris

What a week it was for Academy centre Dom Morris.

The 21-year-old made his Gallagher Premiership debut in Saracens’ win over Wasps in Round 20 and stepped off the bench seven days later to score two tries in the Men in Black’s victory against Exeter Chiefs.

For the first, he displayed incredible footwork to shuffle his way past the covering defender and the second showed off his speed as he ran in and intercept from his own half.

The majority of Saturday’s squad have helped the club reach the Premiership Rugby Cup and Premiership Rugby Shield finals.

Morris was one of 10 players aged 23 or under in the matchday 23, something he describes as ‘special’.

“We’re really pleased with the result,” he said.

“All week we’ve been trying to do the basics well and we had a great week of training. We stuck together well as a group.

“Most of us have played in the Premiership Rugby Cup together so we’ve played well with each other before and it’s just good to come out and get the result. I think we can be proud with the effort.

“It’s always a great experience appearing in the Premiership. It was a special moment for the likes of myself, Sean Reffell, Manu Vunipola… Roti who got his first start. Everyone is just really pleased and there’s great buzz amongst the squad.”
