Wigglesworth and Burger look ahead to Europe
Richard Wigglesworth and Schalk Burger highlighted a number of things to work on ahead of Saracens’ two-week involvement in the Heineken Champions Cup.
The Men in Black were beaten by six points in their previous outing at Sale Sharks with both players labelling a lack of good ball off set-piece, inaccuracy in possession and discipline as areas to address.
Sarries sit top of their European Pool with two matches remaining, starting with Lyon this weekend.
“We had a lot of set-piece and couldn’t launch anything off the back of it and obviously our discipline wasn’t great,” Burger said.
“It’s a little bit frustrating, but sometimes that’s sport. We’ve got to go back to the drawing board. We’ve got two weeks of Europe coming up which is super exciting as we’re going well in that competition.”
Wigglesworth added: “There are some good things for us to get our teeth into over the next couple of weeks.
“There’s plenty for us to work on so we’re going to fly into some European competition and hopefully get out of the pool.”
Saracens’ final game of the Pool Stage is against Glasgow Warriors on Saturday 19thJanuary (KO 13H00). Tickets remain on sale for the fixture – for more information click here.
