Win shows the character and team spirit - Lozowski

Alex Lozowski was thrilled Saracens managed to overcome niggly opponents in Harlequins on Saturday night.

Quins’ attempts to get under the Men in Black’s skin were quashed 10 minutes from time when Billy Vunipola crossed to seal the visitors their first win at The Stoop in four years.

Sarries were made to dig deep for the four points, trailing by eight points in the second half before a late fightback and Lozowski admits other teams may not have been able to comeback from where the Wolfpack did.

“I’m absolutely delighted to win,” he said.

“It wasn’t really a game of rugby to be fair, it was more like a fight for the whole time.

“We’ve had a few bad seasons coming here and it’s a tough place to come and play but to get the win was great.”

He added: “At times it would’ve been easy to think it just wasn’t our day with the try they scored off the kick.

“I think a weaker team may have imploded there but it shows the character and team spirit we have to stick together and fight until the end.”

Saracens' next home match is against Lyon in the Heineken Champions Cup on Saturday 20th October. Purchase your tickets via
