Next Up For Sarries

The European theme continues this week with the ‘Men in Black’ heading across The Channel to lock horns with the reigning Challenge Cup holders, Lyon.

This is a game that will see former Saracen Joel Kpoku get the chance to go up against some of his former teammates, a match-up he is relishing. We have been there before, in their debut season in the top-flight in 2018-19, and came away with a 28-10 win to complete a pool double.

Saturday, 17 December also sees Alex Austerberry’s Saracens Women’s team head to Sale Sharks for another key game in the Allianz Premier 15s. Having been beaten by Harlequins last weekend, the reigning champions will be hoping to get back on course to retain their title.

The Festive Season sees Mark McCall take his team across London to the Brentford Stadium to face London Irish on Friday, 23 December in the Gallagher Premiership. Then the Premiership returns to the StoneX Stadium on New Year’s Eve - Saturday, 31 December.

The visitors will be Exeter Chiefs in will be a game that will be the 13th and final Premiership / Play-off home game of the year. The only defeat to date has been the 25-24 defeat by Gloucester on 8 January. A final flourish will be needed against the power-packed Chiefs and a full house would help.

The New Year begins with a trip to Kingsholm on Friday, 6 January to face Gloucester.

MATCH PREVIEW | Saracens Mavericks vs Severn Stars (NSL Rd 7)

Centre Ellie Rattu believes her side can continue to kick-on, after securing back-to-back away wins.
