Proud Mordt lauds Saracens 'resolve'

Saracens fly-half Nils Mordt praised his sides resolve after they beat a full-strength London Welsh 15-20 at the Kassam Stadium on Sunday.

Mordt, who captained a youthful and inexperienced Saracens side praised his team’s character and doggedness in a tight contest that the north Londoner’s edged.

Speaking after the game, Mordt said: “I’m so pleased for the guys. They brought everything that we asked of them today.

“It was a quite a simple game plan for us today, we just had to bring a lot of physicality and energy to the game and I thought we brought that in spades today. London Welsh were really up for it, they picked a very strong team and they came out firing.”

He added: “When they went ahead I though we showed very good resolve for such a young team to get back in the lead and see the game out – we showed great composure.”
