Ransom looking to build on Euro double
Ben Ransom is hoping Saracens can carry the momentum of a European victory double into Saturday’s clash against London Welsh.
Saracens return to Premiership action against the Exiles on Saturday afternoon after two hard fought victories over Sale Sharks in the European Champions Cup, and Saturday’s try scorer Ransom believes the north Londoners can head into the Christmas schedule full of confidence.
Speaking after the game, Ransom said; “We’ve been looking at each game as it comes really. We’ve not dwelt on past results, so we’ve been concentrating on the next task in hand, and for us that’s London Welsh in the Premiership.
“We can go into the game with a lot of confidence, as I thought the guys played really well".
Ransom scored a try from the bench, after the quicksilver full-back replaced David Strettle after 20 minutes, who left the field because of a head injury.
“It was bad news seeing Stretts leave the field with a bang on the head,” said Ransom, “but thankfully he seems fine and was walking around the changing rooms after the game. It was great to be able to finish a good team move, Billy made a great break and Wylesy did really well to get the ball to me and I had to just run it in".
On the match he added; “I thought we stuck to task really well, there was a little bit of ill-discipline around the half-way line that we’ll look at in the week. We didn’t manage to get the bonus point but overall I think we can be content with the win. We’ve got two tough fixtures in this competition after Christmas and we’ll need two big performances to keep us going in Europe”.
