Returning Hodgson wary of familiar faces
Charlie Hodgson is set to make his first appearance of the 2013/14 Premiership season on Sunday, when Saracens take on a Newcastle Falcons side containing former Sarries custodians Noah Cato and Adam Powell in their side.
“Newcastle are a tough team" said Hodgson.
"They’ve had some good results at the start of the season and they’re definitely showing that even though they have come up from the championship that they are a tough, competitive team.
He added; “There’s a few friendly faces that we may be coming up against at the weekend in Powelly, Saully (Andy Saull is unavailable) and Noah, so we’ll see what they have to bring - I’ve no doubt that they’ll be excited by the prospect of facing their old club”.
On his enforced absence Hodgson said; “It has been tough I must admit” .
“It has been very much and extended preseason for me – I played in the first two preseason games and then I picked up this injury" revealed the fly-half.
"It has been difficult to watch, to miss out on some really big games and playing at Allianz Park is frustrating but I’m very pleased that I’m back fit and healthy and I’m ready to go”.
