Saracens reach Euro last four - Reaction
Saracens stunned Racing Metro 92 to snatch a famous last gasp victory, with Marcelo Bosch's long range penalty kick in the 80th minute handing Mark McCall's side a 12-11 win away in Paris.
We take a look at the reaction from the Saracens camp.
Marcelo Bosch - Match Winner
"I’m feeling incredibly happy. Not just for myself but for the team and for the whole club. We put in a lot of effort into this match, against a team that who finished at the top of the rankings after the pool stages. We’ll enjoy today’s result, but we have some huge games in the Premiership and now against Clermont to look forward to. There’s a long way to go to from now until the end of the season."
Jacques Burger - On a job well done
"Never in doubt! (laughs) It was a hell of battle and was really tough out there. I think they kept hold of the ball a little better than us, and they kicked the ball better than us, but you know what, if you can grind out these kind of wins then it doesn’t matter what the opposition can bring. The important thing is we’re in the Champions Cup semi-final. It’s an amazing feeling."
Schalk Brits - Returning Man
"It was just an amazing feeling to be out there having fun with my friends again. We showed amazing character and resolve. Great Spirit and great heart was shown throughout the game. We’re feeling elated, but it very nearly could have been a feeling of great sadness so we’re delighted to have won the game.
"I’d back Chello (Marcelo Bosch) 100% in those kind of situations, when he takes those long shots at goal. I was actually very confident, and he delivered the goods."
Richard Wigglesworth - Skipper
"Mark McCall just said to us that whatever the outcome of that game, that we can all be incredibly proud of the group after a performance like today’s. Winning a game like that is at a different level, so we’re all incredibly delighted.
"It would have been very easy for us to fold, as they are a top team who bring a lot of big runners, and run it from everywhere. We just had to take our chances, and in the 80th minute Chello stepped up and sends it over."
Kelly Brown - On Bosch's winning kick
"It’s an incredible kick. He’s 45 metres out kicking into the wind, and it’s sailed over. It’s gone over like a rocket."
