Saracens trio in England U20s action
Saracens trio Aaron Morris, Nick Tompkins and George Perkins helped England U20s to a bonus point win over rivals Wales U20s in the World Rugby U20 Championship in Italy.
Defending their World Championship title that Saracens bolter Maro Itoje lifted in 2014, England recorded their second successive win in a 30-16 win in Calvisano on Saturday with all three Saracens players starting the game.
Sarries wing George Perkins (pictured) went agonisingly close to scoring in the build-up to England U20s first try, as centre Max Clark crossed for the first score of the game.
Experienced duo of Aaron Morris and Nick Tompkins (who both enjoyed influential outings) then combined to send over Northampton Saints wing Howard Packman for England's second score.
Further tries from halfback Stuart Townsend and No8 Sam Skinner capped off a fine win for England who weathered a Wales fightback in the second half to win the game.
England Under 20 Head Coach Jon Callard said: “I thought we played very well in the first half, our game management was good, we played in the right areas and were clinical. In the second half, Wales came out strongly and caused us problems.
“We’ve achieved what we needed to and that was to win with a bonus point, so credit to the lads and all the management staff who have put in a great stint this week to ensure that everyone was fit and ready.
“We'll work hard in the coming days and by Wednesday we'll be equally prepared to take on France.”
