Saracens edged out in thrilling contest
Saracens under 18s were beaten 30-40 by their London Irish counterparts at Allianz Park earlier today.
In what a highly entertaining contest, both sides produced some fine attacking rugby in what was eighty minutes of high octane Rugby.
Saracens scored tries through No.8 Alex Brown and right winger George Perkins, who was a threat to the Exiles defence all game.
London Irish initially fell behind to the home side with No.10 Lewis slotting over a well stuck penalty in the opening ten minutes.
The Exiles though hit back, with outside centre John Williams crossing for his first try of the day, after the London Irish pack abrasive approach began to put Saracens on the back foot.
Sarries outside half Lewis hit another long range penalty before the London Irish pack again got the better of the home side’s eight, scoring a push over try to make the score 6-14.
Just before the break, Lewis hit over another penalty after London Irish lock Ollie Currie saw yellow for preventing a quick tap penalty, as the Exiles went into the second half with a 9-14 lead.
With the game finely balanced, the visitors exploded out of the blocks scoring two tries in quick succession to take the game away from Saracens.
The home side rallied with Perkins and crossing for his second of the afternoon, as well as No.8 Alex Brown, but the Exiles ran in two more tries to run out deserved winners in an enthralling game.
