Shaw looking towards home comforts

Saracens Storm coach Joe Shaw is happy to be back playing in familiar surroundings after a fruitful period on the road in the Premiership A League.

Shaw’s side opened their campaign with a comprehensive seven try win over the Exeter Braves, before beating London Irish A, Harlequins A and Bath United on their travels.

Speaking before tonight’s game, Shaw said; “We’re really excited for tonight’s game. It’s been a little stop-start in this group in the way that the format is in this league, but every time that we’ve come together we’ve really enjoyed each others company.

“We’ve been on the road a lot in this competition; we’ve beaten to London Irish, and we’ve won at Bath and away at Harlequins so it’s nice to get some games at home, starting tonight against Wasps then London Welsh next week. We get to play at our home, and I think all the boys have been pretty excited for tonight for a week’s”.

Saracens Storm have named a strong side for tonight’s fixture, with Maro Itoje once again captaining the side.

“I’m really excited at seeing all the guys in action,” said Shaw. “It’s the same 23 guys that we’ve used throughout the A League and LV=Cup so far this season".

He added; “The really impressive thing about this group is how they stick to task, and stick to the plan and they work tirelessly hard for each other during the 80 minutes. That’s the reason we’ve had those victories”.
