Spencer looking to seize LV=Cup opportunity

Ben Spencer is hoping that Saracens Storm’s strong start to the season in the Premiership A-League can inspire Saracens to victory this weekend in the LV=Cup.

Saracens face Harlequins at Allianz Park on Sunday in Round 1 of the LV=Cup, and with a litany of players away on international duty, Spencer believes the younger members of the Saracens squad who have performed so impressively in the Premiership A-League will hope to seize their opportunity this weekend.

Spencer said; “It’s great to have the LV=Cup back. We have a load of young guys that are pretty eager to get some rugby under their belt, especially at Allianz Park.

“We pride ourselves in this competition, and in the last few years we have done well in the LV=Cup and we won’t be looking to do anything different from that this year.

“All the boys work unbelievably hard for each other, and we are a tight-knit bunch. We want to perform for each other week-in-week-out”.

Spencer added; “I think it’s just about taking my form from playing on a Monday night for Saracens Storm, in to these games. Like I mentioned before, there are a lot of young lads like me, who are looking to play well and push for a first team spot. If we can take the form of our performances on Monday night’s into this weekend, then we should be OK.”
