Sport Foundation Festival Success!

The Last two weeks have seen the Saracens Sport Foundation hold the last two Tag festivals of 2013 in Barnet and Harrow

Friday 6th December saw 16 Teams take part in the Barnet Year 3& 4 tag festival at Barnet Elizabethans RFC, the competition was the second of the season held in the borough and was a chance for all the schools to show off the skills they have been learning through the Premiership Rugby Aviva Schools Programme they had taken part in earlier in the term.

Once again the matches and officiating were aided by  8 sports leaders from North London who showcased what knowledge they had gained from attending the Leadership day back in October, this again showing the success of the programmes the Saracens Sport Foundation deliver throughout the year.

“The event today was fantastic. Our children very much enjoyed it. We will look forward to the next Saracens/Barnet Schools event” – Luke Morley – Foulds Primary School

Thursday 12th December saw the last Tag Rugby festival of the year held at Pinner RFC.

19 teams from schools across Harrow and Stanmore took to the field to show the skills they have been learning thought the last two schools terms with the Saracens Sport Foundations coaches.

The festival ran in a pool format with a series of games being played in each pool and the winner of each progressing to an exciting semi final draw, St Johns C of E, Norbury, West Lodge and St Bernadettes battled out a thrilling penultimate round with St Johns C of E being victorious and a nail biting end with St Bernadettes winning on a golden try in their game with West Lodge, the final was set for the two Saints to battle it out and with a close start with the two teams sharing a try each, St Bernadettes pulled away and took the game with a 4 tires to 2 victory
