Spring into action!
Spring into Action makes a big BOUNCE!
Launched in September 2014, new programme Spring into Action is making a big BOUNCE at St Meryl Primary School in Watford. Over 60 children each week get the chance to have a trampolining session which helps improve their fitness, health and co-ordination whilst learning a new skill. Year 2’s wish came true, when last year they got the chance to “wave a magic wand” and wished for a trampoline. They now enjoy lessons throughout the school day before 3 extra-curricular clubs ensure this great opportunity is open to the rest of the school.
Parents have already noticed an extra spring in their children’s steps;
“I can really see the improvement in Harry and Jack’s skills and confidence already. I took them to ‘Bounce’ during the Christmas holidays and they both won a competition because their trampolining technique was so good! They love it.” Mrs Thorn (parent)
“Ahwann isn’t the sporty type apart from riding his scooter to and from school but he cannot wait for trampolining each week. He wants to continue out of school at a club.” Mrs Sharma (parent)
It is really great to see the progress pupils are making, their confidence and co-ordination are increasing in leaps and bounds and smiles bounce around the room with each jump! Year 2 are currently working towards performing an exciting sequence to their parents in a special assembly on February 10th.
