A maverick scrum half with an abundance of talent, Ben Spencer’s eye for a gap, sharp turn of pace and accuracy from the boot has made him a real asset within the Saracens ranks.

Originally hailing from Stockport, Spencer is a product of Devon college Ivybridge, which has produced several players currently plying their trade in the Premiership.

Taking the opportunity to further his education at Cambridge RFC, Ben joined Sarries in 2011 after impressing in trials. Since then, he has maintained a consistent high standard in his approach to the game, showcasing his skills when injuries to de Kock and Wigglesworth gave him an opening in the 1st XV.

The end of the 2016/17 season saw Spencer reach 100 caps for the club, matches including the 2017 Champions Cup final, with Ben proving particularly influential in Sarries’ Anglo-Welsh campaigns.

His club form and reputation has earned him international honours, representing England U20’s at the 2012 Junior World Championship and playing for the England Saxons later that year, as well as featuring in the 2016 England Elite Player squad.
